COMPETITION

Epping Little Athletics Club are affiliated with Whittlesea City Little Athletics Centre (WCLAC) and compete weekly against 5 other clubs from late September to late March each year with a break over the Christmas / New Year period.

 

Children are nominated to an age group for competition based on their age on 1st of January till the 31st of December ie.  if your child is 7  between the 1st January and the 31st of December they will compete in the Under 8 events.

 

CALENDAR

WCLAC weekly competition is also punctuated with region and state competitions which are optional throughout the season.  All dates are advertised in the calendar released at the start of each season.

 

PROGRAMS

WCLAC event program is a rotating 4 program (A, B, C, D) which rotate each competition week throughout the track season. 'On Track' is also run for U6 and U7s. U6 Athletes will  be doing on new structured "On Track Program" this teaches these new athletes coming into Little Aths the basic fundamentals they will need in a more 1 on 1 environment with our On Track Coaching Squad with technique basics, fun and games followed by two events. U7 athletes will also be doing an ontrack first up on competition days then they compete in normal program 3 events before christmas and then after 4 events with no on track.

 

THE TRACK

Track venue for our 2019/2020 season start will be at - Meadowglen International Athletics Stadium, McDonalds Rd, Epping

Cross Country venue: Typically Bundoora Park.

 

PARENT ROSTER

As with most sports we need the parents of our club to volunteer with duties throughout the season.  Many hands make light work so we expect all parents would participate in the club duty roster.

REGION / STATE

These events are purely optional but qualification my be required based on the number of centre events attended. Official state competition starts at U9 but LAVIC does organise invitational events for those in younger age groups from time to time.

CROSS COUNTRY

The cross country season operates during the winter months from May to August.  LAVIC track registration also entitles you to compete in the cross country season for Epping LAC.
