Little Athletics is more than a sport.  It is a community-oriented organisation which enables the entire family to do something together.  Parents are involved in the program as voluntary helpers or officials.  They share in many experiences with the children.

Cross Country  - Winter Season

The cross country season commences in April and finishes at the end of August. The track & field registration fee includes the cross-country season, however new athletes can register for the cross-country season only the via LAVic website.  Competition is held on Saturday mornings For further details view the WCLAC cross country page or contact the cross country coordinator.

Track & Field - Summer Season

Little Athletics Track and Field season commences in September and finishes in March of the following year.  Centre based competition events are conducted on a weekly basis.

Athletes participate in our normal weekly competition each Saturday morning (with some twilight competitions on a Friday evening and an occasional Sunday). The regular season provides for 18 normal weekly programs.

Mixed in with our normal weekly competitions, athletes will also have the opportunity to compete in Center, Region, and State Championship events for Track & Field, Relays and Multi Event.

The event program for the competition rotates through four set programs.  Competition events can include the following:

Track
Sprints – 70m, 100m, 200m
Distance – 400m, 800m, 1500m
Hurdles – 60mh, 80mh, 90mh, 100mh, 110mh, 200mh, 300mh
Walks – 700m, 1100m, 1500m

Field
Jumps – Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump
Throws – Shot Put, Discus, Javelin
